My name is Manisha, a 24-year-old girl from Nepal. I come from a very poor family of seven members.

My mother is my world — she worked day and night doing hard labor to raise us, even when my father, who is addicted to alcohol, used to hurt her. Sadly, my mother is now seriously ill with spinal bone damage and gallstones, and she can no longer work.

I am the only one earning in my family, working from 10 AM to 6 PM for a very small salary. It’s not enough for rent, food, or my mother’s medicine. My father is old and still drinks every day. My younger brother has injured hands, and my younger sister is mentally and physically weak.

We live in a small, leaking house with no warm clothes for winter. I’m trying my best, but I can’t afford my mother’s hospital treatment or my family’s basic needs.
