Hello, this is Noor, one of the families directly affected by the war on Lebanese soil. I used to live in Beirut, but I had to flee and relocate to a safer spot with my family. But unlike southern families, I had time to pack my belongings and look for an apartment. Being fortunate shouldn't make any of us reluctant to help the unfortunate, so together with my friends, I am working from two centralized locations that serve one as a depot for the goods and another as an operational zone for cold meal preparation. We are collecting, buying, delivering, driving, preparing, cashing, exchanging, sorting and distributing, for 18 hours a day. The food, items, and clothes are being distributed to: - 6 schools in Beirut, with 1050 people in total - 3 buildings in Beirut, with 450 people in total, and - 12 families around other apartments in Beirut By now, you all know what we need: financial support, pantry items, winter clothers, mattresses and blankets, and medicine to help the 1683 individuals who fled their own homes, some with nothing but the clothes they were already wearing. Our 2 teams of 6 students and 2 coaches have competed in the local World Robot Olympiad and were qualified by winning the 1st place in two categories to represent Lebanon in the International WRO 2022 event in Dortmund, Germany. Due to the bad economical situation we are facing in Lebanon our teams need your support to raise funding for the travel and participation cost. I never imagined I’d have to write something like this, but here I am—asking for help just to feed my kids. Last week, our house in Lebanon was bombed. We lost everything. No clothes,no shelter and no food just the clothes we were wearing. For the past 7 days, my children and I have been surviving on canned beans. That’s all we’ve had , no change of clothes, and not a single proper meal. I’m not asking for much. I’m just trying to raise a small amount to buy basic groceries, milk for my kids, and some clothes so they can feel human again. If you can donate even a few dollars, it would mean the world to us. We never thought we'd be starting this campaign. We never thought we'd find ourselves incapable of covering the cost of our mother's treatment. Nawal, our dear mom, has been fighting cancer for the past 5 years. She is a real warrior but her health is deteriorating very quickly. In 2017, she was diagnosed with lung and liver cancer. Our mom fought it well and won the battle. In 2021, cancer attacked her again but this time, it spread to her stomach and digestive system. As you can see in the photos, she cannot even eat anymore and has a long away ahead. Mom's life depends on the availability of medication, often out of stock in Lebanon due to the current crisis. She is supposed to have her medicine that costs 3000$, every week! We started this fundraiser hoping to gather as much as we can because we don't want anything to take our Mom away from us. We cannot stand seeing her in this situation so we rely on your support because our community has always been united. If you are reading this and you can contribute, we'd be extremely grateful. Today, we are reaching out with an urgent plea for help. In Lebanon, thousands of families have been forced to flee their homes due to conflict and instability, leaving behind everything they know and love. Many of these families have found temporary shelter, but they arrive with nothing for their children. They are struggling to survive without the basic essentials every child deserves. Imagine being a mother in this situation, desperately trying to keep your little ones warm and healthy, yet unable to provide even the most basic items like clothing, shoes, feeding supplies, and medications. These families cannot afford to purchase what they need, and they are in dire need of our collective support. Our Mission This winter, we aim to ensure that no child goes without.
