Hope After Being Scammed: A Student’s Appeal
Hope After Being Scammed: A Student’s Appeal
My name is Andrea, and I am a graduating student who is supposed to finish my degree next month. I never imagined that I would be in a situation where I would need to ask for help like this, but I am hoping that by sharing my story, kind people may help me get through this difficult time. Over the past month, my family has been struggling financially because my father has been taking continuous medications. Our daily expenses and his treatment have already been difficult for us to manage, and like many families, we are doing everything we can just to get by each day. Wanting to help ease the burden on my family, I made a decision that I thought would help us. I tried to take a loan so I could assist with our needs and settle some of my school expenses before graduation. Unfortunately, instead of receiving the loan, I became a victim of an online scam. What makes this situation even more painful is that the money that was taken from me was not entirely mine. I had borrowed money from people I trust, promising that I would return it as soon as possible once I secured the loan. Instead, I was left with nothing and the responsibility to repay what I owe. I have been carrying this quietly because I do not want to add more stress to my family, especially to my father whose health is already fragile. They do not know the full extent of what happened because I do not want my situation to worsen his condition. At the same time, I still have remaining school fees that I must settle in order to graduate next month. I have worked hard for years to reach this point. My dream after graduation is to continue studying and pursue law, but right now I am afraid that everything I have worked for might be put on hold if I cannot resolve this situation. I am humbly asking for any help or support that could assist me in repaying the money I owe and settling my remaining school obligations so I can graduate. Any amount, no matter how small, would mean so much to me during this difficult time. More than anything, I am hoping to recover from this setback, keep my promise to the people who trusted me, and continue pursuing my education and my dream of becoming a lawyer someday. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any kindness you may extend.

Stand with the displaced - Act with Ayadina!
Stand with the displaced - Act with Ayadina!
In the face of the heartbreaking and ongoing crisis in South Lebanon, thousands of families have been forced to flee their homes, leaving behind their belongings, their memories, and the safety of everything they once knew. Displacement has become a painful reality for so many, and with it came urgent needs for shelter, food, hygiene, and basic essentials. When this tragedy unfolded, Ayadina Association launched an emergency campaign to stand by displaced families during one of the most difficult moments they have ever faced. Thanks to the generosity, compassion, and trust of our supporters, donations began to arrive — and together, we were able to respond immediately. But before acting, we listened. At Ayadina, we believe that meaningful support begins with understanding. We conducted direct surveys with displaced families to assess their most urgent needs, and we tailored our response accordingly to ensure that every contribution made the greatest possible impact. Because of your support, we have already been able to assist more than 50 displaced families with essential relief supplies, including: Food assistance Blankets Toiletries Cleaning detergents Hygiene kits Baby milk Mattresses Pillows And other urgent household necessities Each item delivered was more than just aid — it was a message of solidarity, dignity, and care. It was a reminder to these families that they are not alone. In times of crisis, community becomes everything. We are deeply grateful to everyone who donated and helped us turn compassion into action. Your support allowed us not only to respond, but to respond in a way that truly reflected the real and immediate needs of the people affected. Yet the crisis is far from over. Many families are still displaced. Many children are still sleeping away from home. Many mothers and fathers are still trying to rebuild a sense of safety in the middle of uncertainty. This is why we continue to ask for your support. We hope with all our hearts that the ongoing crisis in Lebanon will come to an end as soon as possible, and that every displaced family will be able to return home safely. Until then, Ayadina Association remains committed to continuing this mission — reaching more families, meeting urgent needs, and offering relief where it is needed most. We cannot do this alone. But together, we can do so much. Your donation today can help us support even more displaced families with food, shelter items, hygiene products, and emergency essentials. Stand with us. Stand with displaced families. Help us continue our mission. #AyadinaAssociation #Lebanon #SupportTheDisplaced #EmergencyRelief

HELP US TO HELP
HELP US TO HELP
Here is an overview of the history and mission of **ASOCODE**, written in English as requested. --- ## The History and Mission of ASOCODE: A Legacy of Solidarity The **Asociación de Comerciantes por la Defensa de los Derechos Económicos (ASOCODE)** stands as a testament to the power of collective action. Founded on the principles of mutual support and social justice, ASOCODE was initially established to protect the economic interests of local merchants. However, over the years, it has evolved into a comprehensive humanitarian pillar, extending its reach far beyond the marketplace to touch the most fundamental aspects of human dignity: education, health, nutrition, and mental well-being. ### Origins and Evolution The story of ASOCODE began with a group of visionary traders who recognized that economic rights are inextricably linked to social stability. In its early years, the association focused on fair trade practices and advocating for the rights of small-scale entrepreneurs. As the organization grew, the leadership realized that their members—and the wider community—faced systemic barriers that went deeper than financial struggles. They saw families unable to afford basic medicine, children dropping out of school to work, and the silent toll of psychological stress caused by economic instability. In response, ASOCODE shifted its paradigm. It transitioned from a traditional guild into a non-profit powerhouse dedicated to holistic human development. The association’s philosophy is rooted in the idea that a thriving economy is impossible without a healthy, educated, and resilient population. ### Pillars of Support Today, ASOCODE operates through five critical branches of assistance: * **Education:** Recognizing that knowledge is the ultimate tool for economic liberation, ASOCODE provides scholarships, school supplies, and vocational training programs. By investing in the youth, they ensure that the next generation has the skills to break the cycle of poverty. * **Health and Medical Assistance:** The association facilitates access to primary healthcare. This includes organizing medical caravans, providing essential medications, and partnering with clinics to offer specialized care for those who otherwise could not afford it. * **Nutrition and Food Security:** ASOCODE manages food distribution programs to combat malnutrition. Their "Food for Families" initiatives ensure that no household in their network goes hungry during times of economic hardship. * **Psychological Aid:** Perhaps the most innovative aspect of their work is the emphasis on mental health. ASOCODE provides counseling and psychological support groups, acknowledging that the trauma of poverty and the stress of entrepreneurship require professional emotional guidance. ### Impact and Future The legacy of ASOCODE is measured not just in the number of merchants it represents, but in the thousands of lives it has transformed. By defending economic rights through the lens of social welfare, they have created a model of "Compassionate Commerce." Their history is a journey from defending wallets to defending lives, proving that when people unite for a common cause, they can build a safety net that catches everyone. As ASOCODE moves forward, it continues to adapt to new challenges, remaining a beacon of hope and a fierce defender of the vulnerable in an ever-changing world.
