Help Mukhlisa Pursue Her Passion for Research!
Hi everyone! My name is Mukhlisa, and I’m originally from Uzbekistan, though I’ve lived in the UAE since elementary school. I’m currently a 10th-grade student passionate about machine learning, synthetic biology, and using technology to create real-world impact. My dream is to become a scientist and contribute meaningful solutions to global challenges.
Over the past few years, I’ve dedicated myself deeply to STEM, research, and leadership opportunities. I served as the CEO of my team in INJAZ UAE (part of Junior Achievement Worldwide), where we placed in the national Top 10 with our project, “HydroGuard,” an AI-powered drowning prevention system using YOLOv11 and mathematical algorithms. Our project was mentored by a professor from the American University of Sharjah, and we are currently advancing toward the international qualifying round.
I’ve also:
• Given a TEDx talk in 9th grade and was nominated again
• Qualified for the Dubai Science and Engineering Fair
• Participated in Mental Health First Aid initiatives at my school
• Been accepted into programs such as IGEM VCL and Girls Who Code
• Gotten 8.5 IELTS last January.
Recently, I was accepted into the Algoverse AI Research Program, an incredible opportunity where students work with mentors from top universities to develop and publish AI research, including opportunities connected to conferences such as NeurIPS.
Unfortunately, despite receiving partial financial aid, the remaining cost is still far beyond what my family can currently afford due to financial instability caused by ongoing regional tensions affecting our situation.
This program means a lot to me, not only as an educational opportunity, but as a major step toward my future in AI research and scientific innovation. Any donation, no matter how small, would genuinely help me participate in this opportunity and continue pursuing the work I care deeply about.
