Save the Education in Tripoli
Help us raise an amount of 200,00$ in order to support the tuition fees of 500 vulnerable students across private schools in Tripoli. The socio-economic crisis in Lebanon has pushed three-quarters of the Lebanese population into poverty, with an acute cash crisis deteriorating living conditions for millions of people. It also had a very high impact on the already struggling education sector whereby: The low wages of teachers in private schools (an average of 200$) are not covering their transportation expenses, leaving them really incapable of making ends meets Actual tuition fees didn’t constitute enough revenues for schools to increase teacher wages, and cover running costs to keep classrooms lit or heated They had to raise tuition fees on an average of 300% and impose real (Fresh) dollar payment on parents. With the ¾ of the population facing poverty, parents losing their jobs, or still being really underpaid in many sectors, a lot of families are not being able to afford the increase of tuition fees. On the other hand, public education reached a new breaking point with the closure of many public schools, and on and off strikes of the public teachers who are left with a salary as low as 40$, with no insurance and hospitals coverage. Despite many trials, the Government has failed to properly address the problem, and suggest viable solutions. This complex situation has left more than 1 million children without education across Lebanon, and the level of school drop out is expected to sky rocket with the dollarization of tuition fees in private schools, and the bad situation of public education. Those critical times added strain on the already struggling Tripoli, the poorest city of the country, and it’s second largest. Even before the economic meltdown, the poverty rate in the city was 60%, and the unemployment rate has far exceeded this number. Education there is under threat and the impact of the collapsing system will be carried on for several generations, with school dropout rate exceeding 40%. Let’s always remember that Education of children is the most essential factor necessary for the recovery and future of our beloved country, and that the quality of education we used to have has always been a success factor to all of us, in and outside Lebanon..

Fund my education

Fund my education
Greetings! I'm an ambitious Lebanese International Student pursuing Aerospace Engineering at Concordia University in Canada. Despite my determination, the dire financial crisis in Lebanon has cast a shadow over my dreams. To keep my education afloat, I've taken on two part-time jobs and a full-time internship. I initially arrived with the confidence of ample financial support, but circumstances have left me teetering on the edge of academic disqualification and potential deportation due to visa non-compliance. Your support can be a lifeline that keeps me in school and in the country. I have completed 74.75 credits so far and still have 69.25 credits to complete my 144-credit program and complete a third and last work term as part of my co-op program. As an international student, I am required to study full time (12 credits/semester minimum) which makes the cost of each semester up to 15000 Canadian Dollars. Being a Co-op student, I am required to study full-time at all times (including the summer semester), making my yearly tuition equivalent to 45000 Canadian Dollars for the academic year 2022-2023. I have covered 6000 CAD so far, however, my family is struggling to provide the rest. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings me closer to completing my unique program and earning a degree that's unavailable back home. My academic record stands as a testament to my dedication (current GPA of 3.0), and I'm committed to achieving my goals. Unfortunately, the university's assistance is limited, and I lack familial support here. If you're in a position to contribute, I'm immensely grateful. If not, simply sharing this link could lead it to someone who can make a difference. Thank you sincerely for your consideration and support!

Medical School Tuition

Medical School Tuition
Dear Supporters, My name is Vanessa Akiki, and I am writing to you with a heart full of hope and determination. I have recently been accepted into the medical school of the University of Balamand, a dream that I have pursued tirelessly and with unwavering passion. However, I find myself facing an unexpected and challenging obstacle that threatens to shatter my dreams. Originally, I believed the tuition for medical school would be $9,000, which, though a significant amount, seemed attainable with careful financial planning. But, just as I was rejoicing over my acceptance, the school suddenly raised the tuition to $18,000 without including dorm fees. This staggering increase has left me in a difficult and desperate situation. You can check tuitions online for the year 2023-2024. The amount I put is the total for the upcoming 4 years of medical school but sadly I know they will increase their tuition year after year and the $18,000 might seem cheap compared to what’s waiting. As a student from Lebanon, my country is facing unprecedented challenges and economic hardships, making it nearly impossible for me to bear this financial burden alone. The deteriorating situation in Lebanon has put immense strain on my family's finances, and I fear that I may have to let go of my lifelong aspiration of becoming a doctor due to financial constraints. Nonetheless, I refuse to give up. I have come too far to let money stand in the way of my dreams. I strongly believe that education is the key to creating a better future for myself and my community. Becoming a doctor will not only fulfill my personal goals but also allow me to contribute to society, providing medical care to those in need, and making a meaningful difference in people's lives. This is why I am turning to you, kind-hearted individuals, in the hope that you can offer your support and help me raise the funds necessary to cover my medical school tuition. Every little bit counts, and I genuinely appreciate every donation, no matter how big or small. Your generous contributions will not only alleviate the financial strain on my family but also serve as a profound vote of confidence in my ability to make a positive impact in the world through medicine. Please consider donating to my campaign, and together, let us make my dream of becoming a doctor a reality. Your support will not only change my life but also have a lasting ripple effect on the lives of countless patients I will have the privilege to treat and care for in the future. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can provide. Your kindness and generosity will forever be cherished. Feel free to contact me for any desired details.
