Every day, thousands of people use the Sahel Jdeideh highway connecting Zgharta to Ehden. It is a vital road for families, workers, students, and emergency services. When night falls, the road becomes dangerously dark. Due to the lack of proper lighting, visibility is extremely poor, leading over the years to: Serious car accidents Multiple fatalities Severe vehicle damage caused by unseen potholes and road hazards Many of these accidents were preventable. Why This Project Matters This initiative is not about comfort. It is about safety, dignity, and protecting lives. Installing proper solar-powered highway lighting will: Reduce accidents and fatalities Improve night and fog visibility Protect daily commuters and emergency responders Provide a sustainable, energy-efficient solution with low long-term operating costs What We Are Raising Funds For All funds will be used exclusively for: Supplying and installing solar highway-grade lighting poles Required electrical and safety infrastructure Installation and compliance with safety standards Basic maintenance to ensure long-term functionality Transparency Commitment This is a community-driven, non-political initiative. Campaign Story We are revitalizing mastic trees in Turkey’s Mediterranean region to protect biodiversity, support local communities, and create sustainable income. With your help, we will plant 500 trees and empower families through eco-friendly agriculture. Problem Climate change and unsustainable farming are reducing biodiversity and harming rural livelihoods. Traditional resources like the mastic tree, which provide both ecological and economic benefits, are disappearing due to neglect and lack of awareness. Solution Our project will: Plant and maintain 500 mastic trees in the first year. Train 20 local families in sustainable mastic cultivation. Support women and youth with income opportunities from natural products (resin, oil, soap). Build a long-term, self-sustaining model of eco-agriculture in Turkey.
