Every Drop of Rain Reminds Us Why We Need😢 a Home
Hello kind hearts,
My name is Nadeeka Nishanthi. I am a mother of two lovely children, and these past months have been some of the hardest in our lives. The heavy rains have made our situation even worse. Each time the rain starts, our small broken house fills with water. The roof leaks badly, and the floor becomes muddy and wet. We try our best to cover things, but most nights we end up standing and waiting for the rain to stop.
If I had a safe place to go with my children until the rainy season passes, it would make such a big difference. But right now, we have nowhere else to go. We stay inside the same little house, hoping the walls will hold and the roof won’t collapse.
We don’t even have a proper kitchen to cook in. Sometimes I make food outside, but when it rains, everything becomes impossible. My children ask me for warm food, and it hurts to say, “Not now.” Still, I keep trying every single day.
Some days, we struggle even to find something to eat. But I try not to lose hope, because I believe there are kind people out there who can help us change this. All I dream of is a safe, small home a place where my children can sleep peacefully, study, and grow without fear.
This is why I started this campaign. I am not asking for luxury, only for safety. Every kind heart that helps us will be part of that dream. Every little donation, every bit of support, brings us closer to a safe roof over our heads.
