I have one younger sister who is still in school, so as the eldest in the family, I started doing daily wage labor. We give her the food we have, hoping to keep her happy for as long as she lives. For the past two days, my sister and I have had nothing to eat because there’s no work available every day, and now we have no money at all. Out of desperation, I borrowed a little rice from a neighbor so I could make some rice porridge for my mother and hide our hunger from her.
