Saving My Father: A Kidney Treatment Appeal
My name is Samodya Dissanayaka, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit. My beloved father has recently been diagnosed with advanced kidney disease, and our world has turned upside down. Watching him suffer through the pain, weakness, and emotional toll of this illness has been devastating for our entire family. But we are not giving up—because we believe in the power of hope, kindness, and community.
My father has always been a strong, hardworking man—the kind of person who would help anyone in need without expecting anything in return. He dedicated his life to supporting our family and those around him. Now, he is the one who needs help, and we are humbly asking for your support.
Doctors have recommended immediate and ongoing treatment, including regular dialysis sessions and the possibility of a kidney transplant in the near future. The cost of this treatment is overwhelming and far beyond our financial means. In addition to the medical expenses, there are significant costs associated with medications, hospital visits, diagnostic tests, and travel to and from treatment centers.
We are doing everything we can—borrowing from friends and family, selling what little we have, and trying to stay strong for my father. But it’s not enough. That’s why we’ve created this appeal—to ask for your help, no matter how small. Every contribution brings us closer to giving my father the care he desperately needs and the chance to live a healthy life again.
Your donation will directly go toward covering his medical expenses and ensuring he receives timely and quality treatment. Even if you’re unable to give, your prayers, positive thoughts, and sharing of this campaign would mean the world to us.
This is one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to face, but with your compassion and support, we believe we can overcome it. My father is a fighter, and with your help, we can give him the strength he needs to win this battle.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading our story, for caring, and for standing with us during this difficult time.
With gratitude,
Samodya Dissanayaka
