Urgent - Please Help Us Survive🙏
Dear Kind Souls, My name is Jean Hatoum. Until a few days ago, my family had a simple life in Debel, a village in south Lebanon near border. Today, everything we had is gone. On February 28, 2026, when the war in Lebanon escalated again, our home was bombed for the second time. We had already rebuilt our house after the war in 2024, believing we could start over. This time, we lost everything again — our home, our belongings, and the life we spent years rebuilding. The bombing also took the life of my father. He died on March 1, 2026. In fear and shock, my mother, my brother David, and I fled our village with nothing but the clothes we were wearing. On the road to Beirut, tragedy struck again. My mother suffered a heart attack. We rushed her to a hospital in Tyre, South Lebanon. By God’s mercy she survived, but we had to continue our journey with nothing. We slept outside, under trees, not knowing where to go, until a kind stranger offered to take us to Beirut. But even the journey was not safe. When we arrived near Haret Hreik in Beirut, another building was bombed close to us, we didn’t know that a warning was sent to that area to be evicted. My brother was injured in the explosion. With the help of the Lebanese Red Cross, we were taken to Abou Jaoude Hospital, in Jal Dib on March 2, 2026. As I write this, we are sitting beside my injured brother in the hospital. We have no home, no belongings, no savings, no stability, and no idea where we will sleep tomorrow. Medical bills are already piling up. My brother needs surgery, medications, and care that we simply cannot afford. We also need a temporary shelter, basic necessities, and medicine for our family. Before this war began, I was already struggling with severe personal and health challenges and had started a fundraiser to try to begin my own treatment, link to my fundraising is: https://fundahope.com/en/campaigns/from-panic-to-collapse-trying-to-survive. Now everything has collapsed on top of us at once. We are not asking for comfort. We are only asking for a chance to survive. We created an urgent fundraiser on Fundahope, the only fundraising platform operating in Lebanon. The amount will help us: • Pay my brother’s urgent surgery and hospital bills • Buy medications, and see doctors. • Find a temporary shelter or small apartment since we are unable to go back home. • Cover basic daily needs while we try to rebuild our lives. This fundraiser will remain open for 10 days only. After that, depending on our situation, we will see if we can extend it. Even $5 or $10 can make a difference for us right now. We know thousands of families are suffering in these difficult days. We are only one family among many. But today, we are standing at the edge of survival, praying that kind hearts will help us stand again. If you cannot donate, please share this message so it can reach someone who might help. You can help, via online donations by clicking on link, or Western Union to Jean Toni Hatoum (Transfer Number should be shared so I can withdraw), Moneygram to Jean Toni Hatoum (Reference Number should be shared so I can withdraw), or Whish Money to Jean Toni Hatoum 0096170169933, or via bank account (it was set up for this fundraising only) to account below: Account Holder Name: JEAN TONI HATOUM ‎IBAN: LB97005699840103500789790002 ‎SWIFT Code: AUDBLBBX ‎Currency: USD Fresh ‎Address: Beirut-Jounieh Coastal Highway Bank Audi bldg., Naccash Dbayeh. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading our story and for keeping my family in your prayers. With all my love, prayers and gratitude, Jean Hatoum

Their suffering is increasing day after day, especially for children and the elderly who have no roof to protect them. They are in urgent need of help to secure food, medicine, and basic necessities of life. 🤲 Do not underestimate your support… even a small donation could ease the suffering of a displaced family or protect a child from cold and hunger. Allah says: “Whoever saves a life, it is as if he has saved all of humanity.” We kindly call on people of goodwill and compassionate hearts to stand by these families and contribute whatever they can. ❤️ Remember: your donation today could help provide temporary shelter or a meal for a family spending the night in the cold.

Equipping Lebanon's First Responders 2026

Solidarity with Lebanon

Equipping Lebanon's First Responders 2026
March 2026: We are fundraising to equip Lebanon’s national first responders - The Civil Defense (الدفاع المدني) with essential and life-saving supplies. Hundreds of Israeli airstrikes have hit Lebanon over the past six days, resulting in tens of thousands of people being displaced, over 100 villages and towns being declared military zones, and—at the time of writing—more than 200 people killed. The violence is ongoing, placing the Lebanese Civil Defense once again on the front lines. They are the first to arrive at the scenes of the strikes, even when the unimaginable happens. We urgently need to be there for them. And your support provides the critical resources these first responders need to keep vital rescue operations moving during this, unfortunately, precedented escalation. Almost three years on, they continue to operate under unimaginable pressure, responding to emergencies with limited and almost no resources while risking, sometimes even sacrificing, their lives to rescue civilians, provide first aid, and clear debris from devastated areas. Despite the prolonged nature of the conflict, their work never stopped and the ongoing aggression has intensified the demands of their job. Ensuring they are equipped and supported remains an urgent need to sustain their lifesaving efforts and protect themselves and communities across the country. We started this fundraiser in 2024 and have been able to secure a significant amount of funds for the Lebanese Civil Defense; we were able to purchase required equipment for a variety of centers across the country. This equipment saved lives and protected first responders. Today, we find ourselves in this situation, yet again, with centers all over the country in need of immediate support. We are reactivating this campaign to raise funds and purchase required equipment. **What will this campaign do? How many first responders and firefighters will you equip? What has this campaign already done?** Your donations will be used to purchase equipment and meet the urgent needs of as many civil defense units as possible, based on our resources and their needs. In our past campaign, we were able to work with the following civil defense units at different capacities: Sour and Derdghaiya (Tyre), Baalbek, Bidnayel and Aarsal (Baalbek), Hrajel (Mount Lebanon), Kfarshima and Mreijeh (Baabda), Deir Al-Ahmar (Bekaa), Bachoura and Ras Beirut (Beirut). With your support, our last campaign raised $89,973 that went towards vehicles, boots, operation costs, firefighting equipment including bulletproof helmets, outfits, and boots, rescue equipment including ambulance set-ups and first aid supplies. The Lebanese Civil Defense has 208 centers across the country. Civil Defense duties include disaster response, providing emergency first aid, ambulance services, evacuating civilians in the event of crises, enforcing public safety, and putting out fires. Volunteers are on call round the clock, seven days a week and you can reach them by dialing 125 from any phone in Lebanon. Your involvement (even by just spreading the word!) will remind our first responders that they are not alone. As the aggression continues we also want to reflect on the work that continues to give our communities hope and keeps us working in solidarity with one another towards a better future. **Who is managing this campaign?** This campaign is managed by a group of concerned residents who are long-time grassroots organizers in Beirut. We are compelled to try and support the Civil Defense in the face of economic, political, and military aggression. **How can we send the donation?** If you are in Beirut, one of the campaign managers can meet you wherever it is convenient. WHISH Money transfers and Western Union are also options. You can send your WHISH Money transfers or Western Union transfers to: + Rami Rajeh (+961-3-428066), + Bana Bashour (+961-3-059327), or + Yusra Bitar (+961-70-459066) **How will the Civil Defense receive my donation?** Your donation will be directly transferred to a volunteer procurement team on the ground who will purchase the equipment and hand them directly to the Civil Defense centers. **How can we make sure the donations actually reach the Civil Defense?** The whole operation will be managed through transparent procurement procedures, where all receipts and invoices are documented and shared with donors. Every piece of equipment has the power to rescue and protect lives. We are filled with gratitude for the courage of our Civil Defense volunteers and for the solidarity of people like you around the world who made much of their work possible. "One Roof" A voluntary solidarity initiative aimed at providing support for those displaced by the ongoing Israeli war on Lebanon. Based on the belief that housing and security are fundamental rights for all, and in response to the needs of displaced individuals affected by Israeli aggressions, the "One Roof" initiative was launched during the last war in 2023 and 2024 (see the Report: https://www.instagram.com/p/DIBS9-FtMFU/?img_index=1) and was reactivated with the renewal of the war on March 2, 2026. The initiative began with the goal of providing temporary free housing for the displaced by connecting them with individuals willing to host them. It is believed that community solidarity is an act of resilience and resistance to maintain a cohesive society under "One Roof." However, the increasing number of displaced individuals has made it more challenging to secure free housing or even affordable rental options. Therefore, the initiative now seeks to collect donations for the following goals: ▪️To provide the needs of families who have been provided with housing. ▪️To rent and equip new spaces to convert them into collective shelter centers. ▪️To meet the needs of the families who will benefit from these centers. Join us! Your support for the "One Roof" initiative is a step toward preserving the dignity of affected families and ensuring their right to safety and housing. With your donations, we can provide shelter for those in dire need and enhance their resilience in the face of these crises. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a significant difference. Let us unite under "One Roof" and share the responsibility.
