At the heart of South Lebanon lies Dar Zefta—a family home built in 1906 that has become a living symbol of culture, resilience, and generosity. For over a century, our family has carried forward its legacy of community building, and in 2017, we created the **Dar Zefta Foundation for Heritage and Development** to give this legacy a lasting, purposeful future.
Today, we’re inviting you to be part of that journey.
The Foundation is working to breathe new life into Zefta and its surroundings—by investing in people, places, and possibility. We support youth, women, and local artisans with training, micro-grants, mentorship, and entrepreneurship opportunities that help them grow and thrive. We restore neglected heritage sites, commission public art across villages, and develop nature and culture trails that tell the stories of our land while drawing visitors and pride back to the South. And we’re reimagining public spaces—beautifying streets, creating walkable paths, and expanding green zones and sustainable waste solutions that improve daily life and honor the environment.
These initiatives span art and culture, environmental renewal, economic empowerment, and heritage preservation—but they all have one thing in common: they are rooted in the belief that lasting change comes from within the community, when people are given the tools, trust, and inspiration to lead it.
