I am a 21-year-old woman trying to escape years of abuse from my parents. I have nowhere safe to go. I face abuse from my parents almost every day, along with death threats and constant fear. Sometimes the abuse continues throughout the night. This has been my reality for as long as I can remember. Some of my very first and earliest memories from childhood are memories of being abused. Even though I am 21, I do not have the freedom to simply leave. I feel trapped in my own home. I cannot defend myself, and I am afraid of what could happen to me if I try to leave without having somewhere safe to go. My parents also prevent me from working and earning my own money. Without an income or financial independence, I have been left with almost no way to escape on my own. That is why I am creating this fundraiser. I am trying to raise enough money to find a safe place to live where my parents cannot find me and where I can finally begin rebuilding my life independently. I still don’t know what the safest option is for me. I don’t know whether I should relocate somewhere else here or leave the country entirely. I only know that I cannot keep living like this. I need the financial ability to choose whichever option gives me the best chance of being safe. The money raised will help me pay for safe housing, transportation, basic necessities, important documents, and other expenses necessary for me to leave and become independent. It is incredibly difficult for me to ask strangers for money, but I am not being given the opportunity to work and save enough to leave. At this point, asking for help feels like one of the only options I have left. I don’t want to spend the rest of my life afraid of my own parents. I want to know what it feels like to wake up without being afraid of what will happen that day. I want the freedom to work, support myself, make my own decisions, and simply live somewhere I feel safe. Any amount you can contribute could bring me one step closer to getting out. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser privately with people you trust would mean just as much. For my safety, I cannot publicly disclose my identity, exact location, travel plans, or where I intend to stay. Please do not share information that could help anyone identify or locate me. Help Me Complete My Special Needs Education Journey I am reaching out with a humble request for support as I work toward completing my Diploma in Special Needs Education at the Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE). I am now only two semesters away from completing my studies. After years of hard work, sacrifice, and persistence, I am so close to achieving a qualification that means much more to me than just a certificate. My goal is to use this training to work professionally with autistic learners and other children with special needs, helping them receive the support, understanding, and opportunities they deserve. Unfortunately, the financial burden has become increasingly difficult. I am worried that if I cannot clear the required fees, I may be unable to register for my final examinations and complete the programme.
