The situation has led to significant violence and instability, with clashes occurring between various armed groups and the Israeli military, particularly in southern Lebanon. The United Nations estimates that civilian casualties have been high, with thousands reported injured and hundreds killed since the escalation began. Help Save "Thor" My Labrador Son
Thor, my sweet Labrador mix, came into my life when he was just a tiny, two-month-old puppy. From the moment I saw his curious eyes and felt his gentle spirit, he captured my heart completely. Now, at 2 years and 4 months old, Thor still believes he’s that little puppy, bounding around and filling my home with laughter and love. He’s always been so full of energy, barking to keep everyone close and ready for one more game. But six months ago, everything changed. Thor accidentally ate chocolate, and his health spiraled fast. He spent two days in intensive care, and the doctors warned it was a close call. After bringing him home, my relief turned to fear as his health took another frightening turn. He collapsed, his body shaking uncontrollably, his legs spasming, and his mouth foaming. It looked like an epileptic seizure, something he had never experienced before. Since then, I have been searching tirelessly for answers. Doctor after doctor quickly diagnosed epilepsy without any tests, which felt wrong and only left me more anxious. Finally, a compassionate vet suggested that Thor’s episodes might be tied to his stomach. With a special gastrointestinal diet, his episodes lessened, but only temporarily. Over the past month, his symptoms have returned, worse than ever. Thor is now barely eating. He throws up nearly everything, his energy drained, his once-bright spirit dimmed. He looks at me with those sad eyes, wanting to play but getting tired so quickly. It breaks my heart to see him like this, knowing he’s suffering and can’t understand why. The last doctor said Thor urgently needs an MRI, CT scan, and neurological tests to understand what’s happening. These tests alone cost $1,840, and with my savings depleted and Lebanon’s situation making everything harder, I can’t afford them or any further treatment he might need. He’s not just a pet; Thor is my son, my companion, and my family. I’m terrified of losing him. Any help, no matter the amount, brings us closer to saving him. Please, if you can, help me give Thor the chance to get well and live the joyful life he deserves. How I Will Use the Funds Raised: • MRI • CT Scan • Neurological Tests • Abdominal Ultrasound • Chest X-Ray • Additional Blood Tests • Special Gastrointestinal Food • Ongoing Medical Care and Medications Your support will allow me to give Thor the best medical care possible and a real chance at recovery. Thank you for helping me bring back the happy, playful dog I love so much. If you're already in Lebanon you can donate using Whish or OMT directly: Mary Boutros +961 3 918 049

Hello, You’re receiving this message because you know me and trust me personally, or because it was shared with you by someone you know and trust. I’m reaching out with a personal and urgent appeal. My name is Mahmoud. I was a refugee in Lebanon from 2012 until 2018, and I now live and work in New York. As a person with family and loved ones still enduring life as refugees in Lebanon, I’m witnessing the severe impact of the ongoing crisis on them who fled to Lebanon in 2012 to escape the war in Syria, are now facing displacement a second time due to the escalating conflict in Lebanon. These families have nowhere to go. Unable to return to Syria, they are struggling to find new shelter within Lebanon as demand and rents surge due to the crisis. Living without a stable income, which they previously earned from daily-wage jobs, they now lack the basic means to afford rent, food, and medical supplies. **Why Your Support Matters** Right now, I’m raising funds to support these resilient yet vulnerable families that I know personally, who have been forced from their homes not once, but twice. While I am helping my own family, but the need is too great to handle alone, which is why I’m reaching out to you **How will the raised money be used** Each $350 raised provides rent, food, and essential supplies for a family of five for one month in North Bekaa in Lebanon, giving them the security and basic necessities to live with dignity. I am committed to helping 10 to 15 families for a period of 1 to 3 months, depending on the funds raised, with the hope that the conflict will soon come to an end. Your support can make an immediate difference. Please feel free to share this message with anyone you trust who might want to help. Thank you for standing with these families in their time of need.

Stand with Lebanon - Support our Emergency Work
Lebanon is facing another devastating humanitarian crisis as Israeli attacks have led to the displacement of up to 1.2 million people, including entire families with women and children, causing significant damage and hardship for them. Civilians are struggling with displacement, loss of livelihood, and a lack of basic necessities, leaving them in urgent need of support. Lebanon is also the Arab region’s most vibrant cultural hub and it is important to maintain its cultural identity and the livelihoods associated with cultural production. What We Want to Do In response, Action for Hope and Ettijahat - Independent Culture are launching this campaign to raise 50,000 EUR. With your help, we aim to: - Provide Essential Aid: Distribute food, clothes, household items and hygiene packages to 200 families in 2 displaced communities directly impacted by the attacks, ensuring they receive the basic support they need during this critical time. - Organise Cultural Relief Convoys: Set up creative and cultural events in 2 displaced communities to support the psychosocial well-being of those affected, especially children. These activities will offer safe spaces for expression, healing, and community connection, helping individuals and families cope with the trauma they are experiencing. - Support Artists and Cultural Workers: We recognize that artists and cultural workers play a vital role in times of crisis. Part of the funds will be directed to support 50 local artists and cultural practitioners who have been affected or displaced. By providing them with the resources and spaces they need to continue their work, we aim to empower them to contribute to their communities through creative expression, storytelling, and cultural resilience. About Us Action for Hope and Ettijahat - Independent Culture are two cultural organisations dedicated to supporting marginalised and vulnerable communities in the Arab region. We have a strong track record of working with people in distressed and crisis situations, including emergencies in Gaza, Sudan and Syria, offering both immediate cultural relief and long-term cultural initiatives that help communities rebuild and thrive. We believe that providing essential support, along with cultural and artistic activities, can significantly improve the well-being and resilience of displaced families and individuals. Why We Need Your Support This campaign will allow us to reach hundreds of people in Lebanon who urgently need assistance. Your contributions will directly fund the distribution of aid packages, the organisation of cultural activities and the support to cultural practitioners, helping communities not only survive but find hope and strength through connection and creativity.
