This family consists of a mother and her son, who has Down syndrome and requires special care and ongoing support. The mother does not have a regular job or a stable income. She depends largely on the kindness and financial assistance of people around her to provide food and cover their basic living expenses. Unfortunately, this support is not enough to give them the stability they need. Caring for a child with special needs while having no reliable source of income has placed an enormous burden on this mother. She is doing her best to care for her son, but she cannot manage all of their essential expenses alone. Our goal: $15,000 The money raised will help them with: - Food and basic necessities - Housing and household expenses - Medical and care-related costs for her son - Medication and necessary treatments - Clothing and personal necessities - Other urgent daily expenses We are not asking for luxury or unnecessary expenses. I'm a qualified certified midwife & tutor, I teach and counsel girls and young mothers in informal settlements and rural areas about reproductive education, family planning, discourage early marriages,safe childbirth, discard retrogressive practices like Female Genital Mutilation, mentorship, spiritual intervention and motivate them to go back to school. My work is very important: currently the situation has become worse and the number of abortions that are not done by doctors has increased, often leading to complications and even deaths after the abortion. And my work is having a strong impact. So far, I've helped share information and knowledge, and have actually helped a significant number of teenage mothers go back to school; some others have even started their own small businesses. I therefore request you to support us with logistics to enable us to reach out to a larger number of vulnerable young mothers who suffer silently for lack of information & knowledge in slums & remote rural areas in Kenya.
