Fundraiser for Sawa Palliative Care

Hello everyone, SAWA is a non-profit organization providing Palliative care for patients with life threatening illnesses, with a goal of improving the quality of life for patients and their families. We provide free services at home focusing on the medical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of patients during the last stages of their life, along with their caregivers’, in Beirut and Mount Lebanon. Our goal is to help people live comfortably their remaining days, with dignity and comfort, and to provide the best possible care for patients and their families. We are addressing these needs with our experienced and specialized team of physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains and palliative care specialists. Palliative care is an essential service that ensures patients receive the necessary support during their most vulnerable times. However, providing high-quality palliative care requires substantial resources, including medical supplies, specialized equipment, training for healthcare providers specialized in palliative care, and comprehensive patient and family emotional and spiritual support services. Despite our best efforts, our resources are limited, and the demand for palliative care continues to grow. By supporting SAWA for Palliative Care, we can enhance our services and reach more patients in need. Education support for prison children

There are four major central jails in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Due to some reasons women go to jail and give birth in jail. Jail is something that everyone knows. Children are not able to be free. Children are also eating prison food. Children are living in fear of freedom day by day. There are 130 children in these four prisons. Our organization arranges rehabilitation for these children and provides good food to 130 children and accommodation for education. We’ve even bridged borders, finding homes in France for over 50 "invisible" pets who were overlooked locally. But the work never stops. Hala is in a race against time, battling the relentless grip of Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Her only hope is Enhertu, a life-saving treatment that could give her the precious gift of more time—a chance to live, to fight, to hold on to hope. Hala’s condition is critical. She has Her 2 low expression, making Enhertu the only medicine that can truly make a difference, the only chance she has for a longer life. But heartbreakingly, this critical treatment isn’t even registered by the Ministry of Health yet. And every passing moment without it brings her closer to the edge. We are devastated, unable to bear the unbearable burden of $9,000 every three weeks to keep her alive. We have no choice but to reach out, to plead for help from those who can—and who care. Right after Allen saw the first few people smiling and engraving this experience forever in their memory; he decided to work on offering free paragliding tandem flights. As much as he would love to share flights with all 7 billion people on the planet, children with special needs are his first priority. A dedicated and passionate athlete with demonstrated success in sports, having experienced once in a lifetime moments, he was ignited to share the love he has for sports and paragliding with others, creating a moment of joy and happiness in these children’s difficult daily lives. On Saturday, October 12th, 2024, we are kicking off the second 'Paragliding for a Smile' edition in Lebanon, where the sky becomes a canvas of joy. Join us on a solidarity event where kids with special needs and certified paragliding pilots unite for an unforgettable experience of soaring and laughter. Watch as the children take flight, their smiles turning the sky into a masterpiece. Expect a day filled with shared happiness between the pilots, children, their siblings and parents. Ayadina's Weekly Soup Kitchen initiative

In the heart of Lebanon's ongoing economic crisis, Ayadina Association continues to stand as a beacon of hope, particularly for our beloved senior citizens. In response to the persistent economic hardship, we are continuing our SOUP KITCHEN initiative for the elderly. Every week, we open our doors to around 80 seniors, offering them a warm, wholesome meal to take away. For many, these meals aren't just sustenance; they're a lifeline, supporting not only the elderly but also their families who rely on these provisions to survive. One of our cherished seniors, now unable to leave her home, shares her gratitude: "Ayadina's center was like my second home, where I spent many cherished years. Though I can't visit anymore, the meals brought to me by a friend are a reminder of the warmth and care Ayadina provides. The quality of the food is exceptional, a testament to the generosity and dedication of Ayadina's team." Ayadina Association, nestled in the heart of Nabaa, Beirut's impoverished neighborhood, was born from one woman's vision to uplift her community. Maya Najjar, our Founder and President, started with a single-handed effort, offering aid to those in need. Today, Ayadina stands as a socio-cultural NGO, providing seniors not just with meals, but with a sense of belonging and a space to socialize. We firmly believe that by changing one person's life, we create a ripple effect that nourishes the entire community. Through Ayadina, hope flows freely, touching every corner of our neighborhood. Over 80 seniors now call Ayadina their second home, a testament to the inclusive and compassionate environment we strive to create. Help us save the life of over 10 dying dogs

Over the past week, there has been a huge amount of cases that have been reported to us. Unfortunately due to financial constraints we cannot help every dog or cat that we get sent but these 10 dogs are all in urgent need of help and we couldn’t leave them behind. 1 dog dumped by his owners and hit by a car and unfortunately is now paralyzed. Another baby was born with no eyes and her breeders couldn’t sell her so they dumped her BLIND. 2 other babies have a severe case of mange and are literally dying of emaciation and anemia. There’s one dog who will unfortunately lose both his arms and many many others needing immediate medical help. We are creating this fundraiser so we can solely focus the funds on these dogs so they can get the best medical care, most of these dogs will require surgeries that will cost thousands of dollars, others will require long term medical care that will also cost us a lot. Apart from this, these dogs will need to eat the highest quality of food and we have to get them beds, medicine etc… Please help us reach our goal on this fundraiser so we can change the life of these dogs forever

About ARM Anti-Racism Movement (ARM) organizes alongside migrant workers, including women domestic workers, living and working under the oppressive Kafala system. We work with migrant-led collectives to support their community organizing, collective action, self-advocacy and activism against systemic racism and injustice. ARM’ main pillars of work include community building through our Migrant Community Center (MCC); working on advocacy, campaigning, supporting grassroots initiative building; and through offering legal counseling and casework. Our Story ARM was launched in 2010 as a grassroots collective by young Lebanese feminist activists in collaboration with migrant workers and migrant domestic workers following a racist incident at one of Beirut’s most well-known private beach resorts. ARM activists, using a hidden camera, filmed the administration’s blatant acts of discrimination and segregation. Interest grew in this small volunteer-based movement, members increased, and our interventions grew in scope and scale. Later this year, ARM opened its first MCC and soon after, in 2012, registered officially as an NGO in Lebanon, with a growing staff team in order to increase its capacity to carry out wider operations to fight racist discrimination, abuse and exploitation in Lebanon. ARM works to achieve social, economic and gender justice for all migrant workers and racialized groups in Lebanon. We recognize the significance of self-organizing and actively support Migrant Domestic Worker leadership in rights activism. A primary focus of ARM is women migrant domestic workers living and working under the oppressive Kafala System, which is used to recruit and hire foreign labor in Lebanon, Jordan and the Gulf states. Our Values We adopt a feminist ethics of care in our work, where we value attentiveness, responsibility, responsiveness, and compassion. We also privilege the voices of migrant workers in every aspect of our work. We use a social justice framework as the basis for our approach, upholding fundamental human rights for everyone in our communities. We value the expression and practice of solidarity among all marginalized communities as a necessary alliance against oppressive and unjust systems. We view our everyday work as political and always seek to address the larger social, economic, cultural and policy structures that enable discrimination, abuse, and rights violations. We value the importance of building safe and strong communities that sustain the activism and offer supportive social networks for migrants and their allies.
