Dear friends and family, It is with a broken heart that I am writing this paragraph in desperate need for help. My mother Maria has a tumor in her brain that needs to be removed as soon as possible. She hasn't been able to talk or walk normally for the past week. The tumor has to be removed and sent to biopsy after which she will need radiotherapy and chemotherapy. My mom will undergo the craniotomy on the 16th of May, after which she will need to recover to proceed with the rest of the treatment. We urgently need to raise $20,000 to cover medical expenses and ensure the best care for my beautiful mother. At the end of 2023, I connected with a Palestinian man through a photojournalist I follow on IG. When the genocide following October 7 started, he depleted his savings to get his wife and three children out of Gaza. The Subeih family has been separated for the past several months. I have started this fundraiser for two reasons: first, to ensure that the children and their mother are able to provide for themselves. They are currently at risk of eviction, and have few resources at their disposal in Egypt. The funds will primarily cover essential expenses such as rent, utilities, groceries, and medical care for the family. The second goal behind this fundraiser is to facilitate the father's safe passage out of Gaza when the Rafah border opens up again. We have a chance to make a difference in the lives of the Subeih family. Am a RN/M, I teach and counsel girls and young mothers in slums and villages about menstrual, safe birth, family planning, mentorship, discourage early marriages, discard retrogressive practices like Female Genital Mutilation, spiritual intervention and motivate them to go back to school & college. My work is very important; currently the situation has become worse and the number of abortions that are not done by doctors has increased, often leading to complications and even deaths after the abortion. And my work is having a strong impact. So far, I've helped share information and knowledge, and have actually helped a significant number of teenage mothers go back to school; some others have even started their own small businesses. I therefore humbly request to funds to enable me to reach out to a larger number of vulnerable girls & young mothers who suffer silently with no help in slums & in the villages.

Ameer, our bright 9-year-old Grade 4 student, faces a battle no child should. Diagnosed with leukemia, his smile, once the sunshine of our classroom, is dimmed by this illness. Brave as ever, Ameer started the fight with chemotherapy designed for his young age. However, he needs a stronger weapon – a bone marrow transplant. It's his chance to reclaim his strength and become the happy boy we all cherish. On Tuesday, May 21st, 2024, Ameer's spirit shone brighter than ever. He surprised us at school, missing his classmates so much that he brought gifts for everyone. This act of kindness, especially during his struggle, warms our hearts beyond words. We, at the school, stand with Ameer and his family. While a bone marrow transplant offers hope, the financial burden can be overwhelming, especially since his father Hafez works in the firefighter unit of Beirut with a $180 monthly salary, and his mother Turkiye is unemployed. Medical treatments are expensive, and the added stress can hinder Ameer's recovery. Knowing this, we are reaching out for your support to ease their worries and allow them to focus on what matters most – Ameer's health.
