Happinest - Arts & Culture Programs
Happinest - Arts & Culture Programs
We built Happinest as we realized the vitality of an oasis that celebrates creativity in the midst of havoc and ruination. We are offering our nest as a safe haven to any individual residing in Lebanon, seeking to explore art as a vocational pursuit, a healing instrument, and/or a recreational pastime. > Our mission: Happinest is a non-profit creative hub, offering programs in performance & visual arts, functioning as a support structure for aspiring artists and individuals seeking artistic outlets for healing and recreational purposes. > Our vision: Healthy communities founded on creativity, authenticity, and autonomy of expression. > Happinest - بيت السعادة The house, located in the town of Wadi Chahrour - a 20 min drive from Beirut, was originally built circa 1980. After being inhabited for almost 25 years by the Saadeh family, its doors were permanently closed as the family members gradually moved out. Five floors, multiple spacious terraces, and a 1000 m2 lively garden with its own gazebo add up to 2200 m2. The amplitude of the space allows for the occurrence of several activities, simultaneously and comfortably. The renovation process began in April 2021 and was fully completed in September 2021. > Happinest programs The art programs offered by Happinest are divided into two main categories: visual arts and performance arts. > Partner programs The nest is happy to open its doors to any potential partnership and/or collaboration with entities and organizations that promote or conduct artistic programs or activities aligned with our mission. 4. Library café & guesthouse Originally a kitchen and two salons, these functions will jointly operate as a library café. The facility will be open for individuals seeking a working space to focus on their writing, research, or artistic projects. The upper floor, containing a living room with three master bedrooms, will be open to accommodate creatives for residencies, guest speakers/teachers, or any individuals looking to retreat into a wholesome artistic experience. > Sporadic . When it comes to women empowerment "Nashet association" has implemented a very successful initiative, "Palestinian Women’s cooperative ( Zewadetna). The program composed of 4 main components: -Establishment of food processing plant that meets the food safety standards in the Saida region in Lebanon. -Support the selected women with soft skills training (communication, working within team and other) -Provided the women with business Development Training (marketing, cost analysis, business planning etc.) -Provided the needed Technical training (Health security safety and environment food processing, HACCP, etc) "Zewedetna” is an alternative project with many programs that support refugees women and their cause. It is not a charitable project or a social welfare program, but rather an economic project to help the refugees in their steadfastness in the diaspora. The project also aims to reduce poverty within the refugees community in the camps. Enhancing the sources of income for families within the framework of employing the largest possible number of women from the Ain El-Hilweh and Miyyeh camps in the “Zewedetna” food factory. The association needs support more than ever due to the conditions that Lebanon is going through from the Corona pandemic and the stifling economic crisis, which led to an increase in the prices of all basic commodities such as flour, gasoline and diesel, if available. The rise in prices led to a decrease in the profit margin, and the profit here is not financial returns, but rather the wages of women who work in this project, and they are the most vulnerable and under threat of unemployment. Your donation to this project will contribute to reducing unemployment and empowering refugee women in the long run. Nearly 25 women and countless families depend on your donations during these difficult times that Lebanon is going through. Help us help them!

Among the projects that we support at PEAKS, we chose to support vulnerable girls aged between 4-22 who are living in Ghedres Orphanage Center. These girls come from challenging backgrounds, and it is crucial to create an environment that promotes their physical, emotional, and educational and psychological well-being. Considering that the girls come from different families with various vulnerabilities, we will factor the following needs: - Provision of basic needs: Since the families are poor, the girls are in need of accessing basic needs such as food, clothing, and healthcare. - Cultural sensitivity and inclusion: Given the different religions and nationalities of the girls, the project will ensure that their religious and cultural sensitivities are taken into consideration, promoting an inclusive and respectful environment. - Education support: The girls in the center are struggling with their education due to unstable home environments. In addition to securing basic education, it is important to focus on vocational education, incorporating programs that provide educational support such as tutoring and mentoring programs will ensure the girls receive education support. - Rehabilitation support: Some girls are dealing with the aftermath of living with drug-addict parents or families that have gone through a divorce, death, or separation. As such, psychotherapeutic services and rehabilitation programs should be implemented to ensure they receive the necessary psychological and emotional support. Hence, the project will include several divisions: the rehabilitation and renovation of the center, developing a comprehensive plan for their daily routine with extra-curricular activities and psychotherapy, and providing vocational education to empower them for a brighter future. With the accumulation of crises in Lebanon, which led to the collapse of public education in the last 4 years, we found ourselves forced to move these girls to private schools to complete their education process, which added to us an additional burden, which in addition to the regular expenses mentioned above, imposes on us a schooling fees ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 US dollars per year for each girl. Through your donations to PEAKS, you help sustain the provision of services and increase the capacity to accommodate more humanitarian cases. Thanks for your generous support!

Support the talents of gifted youth.
Support the talents of gifted youth.
In the face of one of the most severe economic crises in its history, and a political climate that breeds uncertainty and fear for the future, Lebanese youth are compelled and forced to leave their home country in seeking a better future, immigrating to any country that would welcome and benefit from their world famous innovative and entrepreneurial spirit. Onward is a startup initiative attempting to encourage these youths to cling to their roots and to find a breathing space where their art and intellect is appreciated by providing them with whatever they need to develop and grow their talents. We are a small locally based group of teachers and social workers looking for talented and promising students to encourage them into believing in their homeland and to help rebuild it by rewarding their art and innovation and hopefully sponsoring the most promising ones in the future. We are based in North Lebanon which is its most neglected governate, in the city of Tripoli, one of the poorest city on the coast of the Mediterranean where poverty and lack of education and job opportunities make for a fertile ground for disenfranchisement, we aim to help in quelling the rising tide of extremism by spreading intellectualism and knowledge and helping teens feel like they belong. For every donation no matter how modest we will be able to fund or procure a much needed tool, instrument or precious manuals and textbooks, from painting kits to music instruments passing by any and every tool that would aid a young mind express itself while feeling validated and appreciated. Join us in helping grow the abundant seeds of talent in Lebanon and be part of a very special dream of keeping Lebanese families whole in the hope chartering a course of return to the Eden of the Middle-East.   We have three direct objectives we are hoping to achieve that will depend on the level of funding received: 1- The first objective is to directly procure the tools and instruments needed by the youth to practice and hone their talents and arts; we will conduct an inventory of the things that the children need and publish it and proceed to procure whatever the funding allows. 2- The second objective is to fund classes for gifted children; we will conduct a survey with the participants and attempt to fund the most desired classes and courses to insure that the largest number of them can progress their talents and grow them to professional levels. 3- The third and final objective is to fund the renting of a center that can host these classes and allow for a safe space for any child that feels the need for companionship and nurturing support, where we can centralize and facilitate all the activities of the project, the center would have a library full of textbooks, manuals and even regular books since sadly there is a disastrous lack of public libraries in these areas, as well as containing rooms for classes to take place without having to change venue repeatedly. We aim to help and sponsor any and all types of talent and interest, from scientific to labor-oriented to artistic endeavors, whatever skill or talent the young person wishes to advance, the project will attempt to help them change their future and even try their hands at different types of arts or talents to find that which suits them best . The sad reality is that the severe crises Lebanon is going through and the hyper-inflation has made it impossible for even middle-class families to spend their incomes on anything other than the necessary day to day needs, we strive to help these families and even all people from all walks of life to not neglect their inner voice and to express and advance themselves and to help children do better in schools.
