9 Dogs, 9 Homes: Be a part of their Journey
At Gaïa Fodoulian Association, we are proud to have saved and changed the lives of many animals, while bringing joy to their new human families. We currently have 80 dogs that we have rescued off the streets of Lebanon. When we saved them, they were scared and often sick, having endured years of confinement, abandonment, or starvation. The good news is that 9 of these dogs have been adopted by kind families living abroad, as the situation in our country makes it extremely difficult to secure local adoptions. There is one issue holding back these dogs from meeting their new loving families: it costs nearly $800 USD to transport these dogs to their new homes. Will you help us unite these dogs with their new loving families? About us: The founder of the Gaïa Fodoulian Association is not actually Gaïa Fodoulian herself. Tragically, we lost Gaïa, a kind and empathetic soul, on August 4th, 2020, due to the Beirut Port explosion. Gaïa was always an animal lover and often took in strays that the local shelters could not accommodate. After her passing, we created the Gaïa Fodoulian Association in her honor. Since then, this small family Association, born out of love and grief, has changed and saved the lives of nearly a hundred animals. The urgent challenge: In the midst of conflict and poverty, animals are often the last to receive care. We are here to care for them, thanks to you. While the challenges our country faces are difficult and sometimes make us lose hope, quitting has never been an option. We are focusing on international adoption and have since found success in this method. While this helps get the animals to their new families, it costs money to get the required logistics in place for safe and legal transportation home. This is why we need your support. While you think of your summer plans, could you also please help us secure the future of these dogs, helping them get home after so many years of suffering? Our goal is to get all 9 dogs home before the summer is over. Achieving this not only marks a success in the adoption program but also frees up limited space in the shelter, allowing us to rescue more animals in need. With every animal adopted and flown home, another gets to receive life-saving treatment and care. How You Can Help: Like any summer vacation, transporting animals to their new homes abroad is costly, and we can't do it without the support of compassionate people like you. - Ticket: $300 USD - Crate: $135 USD - Rabies Titer Test: $150 USD - Ovation and castration: $175 USD - Microchip: $15 USD - Total Dogs: 9 - Total Need: $6,975 USD Moon, Pointy, Pepper, and each of the other dogs have their own stories of starvation, neglect, loneliness, and trauma.
