I had serious lung surgery, and because of my health condition my ability to do physical work became very limited. We are launching a new Medical Center in the Jiyeh area, Iqlim Al Kharoub, Lebanon, to provide affordable and accessible healthcare services to our community. This initiative is led by the Baassir Charitable Association, which has been actively serving the region since 2000 through social and medical support programs. In 2013, we opened a modest clinic in Baassir that provides nearly free medical services in collaboration with qualified doctors. The new center will allow us to expand our capacity and serve nearly ten times the number of patients currently supported by our existing clinic. Today, due to increasing healthcare needs, we aim to expand our services by establishing a fully equipped medical center including: • Medical and dental clinics. • Laboratory department. • Pharmacy. • Radiology department (Mammography, Panoramic-Xray imaging, X-ray and Ultrasound). The building is already available, and your support will help us equip and operate this center to serve residents of Baassir, Barja, Jiyeh, and the entire Iqlim Al Kharoub region. Obieda's story Help a Palestinian Refugee Rebuild His Life and Access Medical Care My name is Obaida. I am a Palestinian refugee living in Lebanon, where I have spent most of my life. Like many refugees here, my family and I live under extremely difficult economic conditions. We are struggling to meet even our most basic needs. I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, a lifelong mental health condition that requires continuous treatment, stability, and medical care. Living with this illness while facing poverty, uncertainty, and displacement has been overwhelming. In an attempt to change my situation and support my family, I traveled to South Africa and applied for asylum, hoping for safety and a chance at a dignified life. Unfortunately, my asylum request was rejected. After this rejection, the psychological pressure became unbearable, and I went through a very dark period in my life. I survived a serious crisis, and since then I have been trying to focus on healing and rebuilding myself. Today, I am asking for your help for two main reasons: To access proper medical treatment and mental health care so I can live with bipolar disorder in a stable and healthy way To find a legal and safe opportunity outside Lebanon that would allow me to improve my life and help support my family Your support—no matter how small—can help me receive treatment, regain stability, and work toward a future with dignity and hope. Hemophilia A is a rare, lifelong bleeding disorder where the blood does not clot properly. Even a small injury or internal bleeding can become life-threatening, especially for a child so young. Koa requires frequent hospital visits, constant monitoring, and expensive medical treatment, including clotting factor replacement, to prevent dangerous bleeding episodes. As parents, we are doing everything we can, but the financial burden of his care is overwhelming. Our mission is to bridge critical healthcare gaps by providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality medical care to the community of over 500,000 residents, complemented by advanced tertiary services for the wider region. This proposal seeks a total investment of $250,000 to fund the construction, medical equipment, and initial operational setup. With a projected completion date of 10 September, 2027 the hospital will create over 100 new jobs, reduce patient travel for critical care by 90 Percent, and become a sustainable center of medical excellence.
