For several years, my family and I have worked tirelessly brick by brick, beam by beam to build a safe, decent home in Moiben, Eldoret, on land I inherited from my beloved parents, who have since passed away. Through personal savings, sacrifice, patience, and the grace of God, we have brought the house from its foundation to the ring-beam level. We have also purchased 300 metres of roofing sheets, which now sit on-site, waiting to shelter the rooms beneath them. However, our financial resources have now been exhausted. The remaining works, including roofing timber, plastering, electrical installation, plumbing, windows, doors, painting, wardrobes, and other finishes, are beyond our current ability. This year, our only source of income, maize farming, was severely affected by drought in Uasin Gishu County, leaving us without the means to complete this dream. We are seeking KSh 2,270,000 (approximately USD 17,600) to complete the house and finally open the doors of a home where our children can grow in safety, study in peace, and build lasting memories. The property is located in Moiben, Eldoret, Kenya, one of the most agriculturally productive regions in the Rift Valley. The area is known for its rolling maize fields, temperate climate, and strong community spirit. Moiben is well-connected to Eldoret town, providing access to schools, health facilities, markets, and other essential services. The masonry block-work walls are complete, and 300 metres of roofing sheets have been purchased and delivered to the site. Tragically, this year has been devastating. Uasin Gishu County, normally one of Kenya's breadbaskets, has been hit by severe drought. The rains failed, and our maize crop withered in the fields. What should have been a season of harvest turned into one of loss and uncertainty. Without the expected income from the harvest, we have no financial reserves to draw upon to complete the house. This drought has not only affected our family but has impacted thousands of farming households across the region. We are not asking for relief from poverty, but rather for partnership in finishing a project we have already invested years of labour and savings into. I'm a qualified certified midwife & tutor, I teach and counsel girls and young mothers in informal settlements and rural areas about reproductive education, family planning, discourage early marriages,safe childbirth, discard retrogressive practices like Female Genital Mutilation, mentorship, spiritual intervention and motivate them to go back to school. My work is very important: currently the situation has become worse and the number of abortions that are not done by doctors has increased, often leading to complications and even deaths after the abortion. While the business closed, the bank loan remained. Today, the weight of that loan has become an enormous financial burden on her and her family. The monthly repayments are far beyond what she can comfortably afford, and the stress of carrying this debt has affected every aspect of her life. Pragya is a loving mother of three wonderful children—two sons and one daughter. Every day, her biggest priority is making sure they have food on the table, a safe home, and the opportunity to continue their education. She wants nothing more than to give them a secure and hopeful future. She has never given up. Instead of losing hope, Pragya started working again. She is currently employed as a beauty service professional in Delhi, where she works hard every day to support her family. Help Me Reach Safety and Start Again My name is Bukola Johnson, and I am asking for your help during one of the most difficult times of my life. For a long time, my Christian faith has been a central part of my life. I have been involved in sharing my faith through early morning street preaching and outreach in my community. Because of my religious activities, I have experienced threats that have left me fearing for my safety. After much prayer and careful consideration, I have come to the painful decision that I must leave my home country and seek asylum in a place where I can practice my faith freely and live without fear. For my own safety and the safety of those close to me, I am not able to publicly disclose my location or my intended destination. Leaving everything I know is not something I ever wanted to do. It means saying goodbye to my home, my community, and the life I have built. However, I believe that seeking safety is the only path that gives me hope for a future. I have always believed in serving others. Through my work as a caregiver, nanny, and teacher, I have tried to make a positive difference in people's lives. My hope is that, once I am safe, I will be able to continue helping others, work honestly, and rebuild my life with dignity. I am raising funds to help cover the essential costs of reaching safety, including travel, temporary accommodation, legal and immigration expenses, food, and other basic necessities while I begin the asylum process.
