Save animals from war in Lebanon
Give Me A Paw has been on the frontlines rescuing animals trapped in areas under constant threat of bombing. After just 14 months of fragile stability, Lebanon has once again become an active war zone. Heavy bombing is taking place across the country, and Israel has issued evacuation orders for large parts of Beirut and the entire south of Lebanon, an area of roughly 1,445 km², forcing hundreds of thousands of residents to flee with little warning. In the chaos of displacement, thousands of animals have been left behind. Pets locked inside empty homes. Dogs chained outside with no one to return for them. Animals trapped in pet shops and apartments. Strays injured from bomb blasts, wandering through empty streets in search of food and water. These innocent lives have no voice, but they have not been forgotten. Since March 5, Give Me A Paw has been carrying out emergency rescue missions into war-affected areas to save animals trapped in evacuated towns and neighborhoods. Our team enters bombed buildings and deserted streets to search for animals left behind. Every mission is dangerous, but we continue because these animals would otherwise have no chance of survival. Your donation will help us continue: • Rescuing animals trapped in homes and evacuated buildings • Reuniting rescued pets with displaced families whenever possible • Supporting displaced families to take care of their pets, with boarding costs, food, and medicine • Treating animals injured by bomb blasts and debris • Unchaining dogs and rescuing animals abandoned outside • Distributing food and water in evacuated neighborhoods now turned into ghost towns Our shelter is now beyond capacity, and the cost of rescue missions, veterinary care, and boarding is increasing every day. But we refuse to stop while animals are still trapped and suffering. We urgently need your help to continue this work. Time is critical. Many animals are locked inside homes without food or water and could be killed at any moment by ongoing bombardment. With your support, we can continue to reach them before it’s too late. Please donate today to help us save the animals of Lebanon. Every contribution makes a difference. To see our rescue missions and the animals you are helping save, follow us on Instagram @givemepaw.

Here is an overview of the history and mission of **ASOCODE**, written in English as requested. --- ## The History and Mission of ASOCODE: A Legacy of Solidarity The **Asociación de Comerciantes por la Defensa de los Derechos Económicos (ASOCODE)** stands as a testament to the power of collective action. Founded on the principles of mutual support and social justice, ASOCODE was initially established to protect the economic interests of local merchants. However, over the years, it has evolved into a comprehensive humanitarian pillar, extending its reach far beyond the marketplace to touch the most fundamental aspects of human dignity: education, health, nutrition, and mental well-being. ### Origins and Evolution The story of ASOCODE began with a group of visionary traders who recognized that economic rights are inextricably linked to social stability. In its early years, the association focused on fair trade practices and advocating for the rights of small-scale entrepreneurs. As the organization grew, the leadership realized that their members—and the wider community—faced systemic barriers that went deeper than financial struggles. They saw families unable to afford basic medicine, children dropping out of school to work, and the silent toll of psychological stress caused by economic instability. In response, ASOCODE shifted its paradigm. It transitioned from a traditional guild into a non-profit powerhouse dedicated to holistic human development. The association’s philosophy is rooted in the idea that a thriving economy is impossible without a healthy, educated, and resilient population. ### Pillars of Support Today, ASOCODE operates through five critical branches of assistance: * **Education:** Recognizing that knowledge is the ultimate tool for economic liberation, ASOCODE provides scholarships, school supplies, and vocational training programs. By investing in the youth, they ensure that the next generation has the skills to break the cycle of poverty. * **Health and Medical Assistance:** The association facilitates access to primary healthcare. This includes organizing medical caravans, providing essential medications, and partnering with clinics to offer specialized care for those who otherwise could not afford it. * **Nutrition and Food Security:** ASOCODE manages food distribution programs to combat malnutrition. Their "Food for Families" initiatives ensure that no household in their network goes hungry during times of economic hardship. * **Psychological Aid:** Perhaps the most innovative aspect of their work is the emphasis on mental health. ASOCODE provides counseling and psychological support groups, acknowledging that the trauma of poverty and the stress of entrepreneurship require professional emotional guidance. ### Impact and Future The legacy of ASOCODE is measured not just in the number of merchants it represents, but in the thousands of lives it has transformed. By defending economic rights through the lens of social welfare, they have created a model of "Compassionate Commerce." Their history is a journey from defending wallets to defending lives, proving that when people unite for a common cause, they can build a safety net that catches everyone. As ASOCODE moves forward, it continues to adapt to new challenges, remaining a beacon of hope and a fierce defender of the vulnerable in an ever-changing world.

Community Support for Farmers in Lebanon

Solidarity with Lebanon

Community Support for Farmers in Lebanon
Arabic and French versions below : The Agricultural Movement is organizing a solidarity campaign to support farmers who are being threatened by Israeli attacks.  In addition to the daily massacres, destruction campaigns and mass displacement of the people of the land, the Israeli army is also purposefully targetting agricultural lands in the South of Lebanon and Beqaa Valley. We have seen this coming with the targeting of the vital infrastructure of our land with the aim to lay the foundation for mass starvation, as we have all witnessed happening in Gaza. In this context and in support of the rights of people to defend their land and sovereignty, we would like to stand in solidarity with farmers and support them by planting heirloom seeds, help feed and move cattles to safe zones, and make sure that we can still produce in times of war and siege. With the collected amount, we will first distribute heirloom seeds, grow them in nurseries and send them to farmers, as well as communities in many towns across Lebanon. In times of war, decentralizing the production is essential to fight against the weaponization of food. The collected amount will allow us to : Produce seedlings for the new season (tomatoes, thyme, eggplants, zucchini) and heirloom seeds distribution to farmers (molokheya, onions...) in areas not under threat. Cover labour costs (agricultural workers) Cover shelter, feed and transportation costs of cattles and beehives from threatened zones to safe areas. If you have any question, feel free to reach out to AgriMovement on marhaba@agrimovement.org or on their Instagram page (@agrimovementlb)
