My name is Dora Wugah, and I’m trying to help my mom through a very difficult situation. We currently live in a rented place, but our rent has recently increased from 300 cedis to 400 cedis, and it’s due next month. This has put us under serious financial pressure, and we’re struggling to keep up. My mom has been working hard to build a small one-bedroom self-contained home so we can finally have something stable of our own. Unfortunately, the house is not yet finished. It still needs electrical work, a ceiling, and basic furnishings before we can move in. Right now, we’re stuck in between unable to comfortably afford our current rent, and unable to move into the unfinished house. We’re at risk of losing our place before the new home is ready. That’s why I’m asking for help. I am supun shanaka. I am a 29-year-old poor young man. I am currently working as a laborer in a tire factory called ferntino. I get a salary of about 156 usd per month. Only my mother and I are at home. My father died. My mother is old and it is difficult for her to work now. My mother and I live on the salary I earn from working. The salary I earn from working is completely spent on food and drink for me and my mother. I walk about 5 kilometers to work every day and light a torch at around 4 in the morning. I come back home on foot at night after work. I live in a remote village where there is no bus. So my biggest dream is to buy a bike someday. The salary I earn is spent on household chores. So how convenient it would be for me if I had a bike, so buying a bike has become a dream for me. I live in Sri Lanka. You can usually buy a bike here for around 2000 USD. So if there is anyone who can make this dream of mine come true, please help me.

This small shelter with a rusty tin roof and broken walls is the only home our family has. I have 3 young children, and my husband is disabled, so the burden of our entire family has fallen on me.
