Urgent Relief for Lebanon's Displaces

Solidarity with Lebanon

Urgent Relief for Lebanon's Displaces
As a Lebanese American with deep roots and extended family in Lebanon, I am heartbroken by the current humanitarian crisis my homeland is facing. The ongoing conflict and Israeli aggression have led to tremendous loss of life and the displacement of countless families. Many have been forced to flee their homes, leaving everything behind in search of safety. Through this fundahope campaign, I aim to provide much-needed support to those affected. I will be donating directly to the Lebanese Red Cross, an organization that is on the front lines providing essential aid and medical support. Additionally, the main purpose of this fundahope is to directly donate to families desperate of assistance with no other connections. I will be sending receipts of the money transfers and ensuring donators are aware of where their money is going and how it is being used. Your contributions will help deliver: food, shelter, medical supplies, and other critical resources to those who are suffering. Every donation, no matter the amount, can make a significant impact and provide hope to those in need. Lebanon is a small country and we are united as one. Everyone is doing the best of their ability to help families that are less fortunate. I am in contact with many families that are unable to provide for themselves or their children and require basic necessities.

In Solidarity with Lebanon's Displaced
In Solidarity with Lebanon's Displaced The situation in Lebanon is critical. Our country has been grappling with a severe economic crisis for the past few years, with an estimated 44% of the population living below the poverty line. Now, the Lebanese people are consumed by intensive and unprecedented bombing. Thousands of civilians have been killed, wounded and disappeared. Over one million displaced from Southern Lebanon, Bekaa, and the suburbs of Beirut have nowhere to seek refuge. Some have found shelter in schools, but many are forced to live on the streets. We urgently need to support our people. To address the most urgent needs, the Lebanese Association for Civil Rights (LACR) is organizing a call for donations. We greatly value your support. Our humanity unites us across the globe. Thank you for your generosity. Its origins trace back to efforts initiated during the civil war in 1983 by two thinkers and activists, Walid SLAYBI and Ogarit YOUNAN, who were awarded the International Gandhi Prize in 2022. Recognized for its expertise and innovative approaches, LACR operates during both conflict and peacetime, focusing on various groups including youth, workers, teachers, people with disabilities, and women. The organization works with public and private schools, promotes dialogue and reconciliation within communities, and advocates for legal reforms. Among its initiatives are: Non-Violent Houses in villages (BILAD, meaning "the country"); Non-sectarian Non-violent Youth (CHAML, a political action movement); Non-Violent Mothers (UMAHAT, promoting civil peace and opposing war); a Continuing Training Center for all categories (with Slaybi and Younan being pioneers of interactive training in Lebanon); the National Campaign for the Abolition of the Death Penalty in Lebanon (LACR is a member of the World Coalition Against the Death Penalty and received the French Republic's Human Rights Prize in 2005); and the National Campaign for Civil Marriage in Lebanon. In 2014, the founders of LACR realized their dream by establishing the Academic University for Non-Violence and Human Rights (AUNOHR), a unique of its kind in Lebanon and globally, offering master’s programs and diplomas. https://worldcoalition.org/membre/lebanese-association-for-civil-rights-lacr/

Urgent Mental Health Care for Families in Lebanon

Solidarity with Lebanon

Urgent Mental Health Care for Families in Lebanon
Hi there, I'm Maya - a Lebanese-Brazilian investor focused on supporting mental health companies and nonprofits serving the most vulnerable through early-stage investing and pro bono advisory work, including sitting on the Board of Advisors for Embrace Lebanon. Please join me in raising emergency funds for Embrace Lebanon, a pioneering, stigma-busting Lebanon-based nonprofit providing urgently needed mental health services to thousands of families experiencing mass displacement and ruthless violence due to the growing Israel-Hezbollah conflict. In a country already grappling with economic collapse and political instability, the ongoing conflict has left over a million people traumatized, displaced, and in urgent need of basic necessities, as well as critical mental health services. Embrace needs our support to provide critical, urgent services: - Expand the capacity of their free 24/7 crisis hotline and turn it virtual for their employees' safety (the lifeline received over 500 calls in the past week alone) - Deploy mobile crisis units to reach displaced populations, offering immediate psychological first aid and psychiatric consultations, including medications for those who have lost access to their prescriptions or pharmacies (they received 150 requests for this in the past week alone) - Equip their existing mental health clinic with a trauma center for those directly impacted by the violence (e.g., wounded or experienced a loss of a loved one) In 2023 alone, Embrace helped 12,000 callers of their crisis hotline and provided 5,000+ free and subsidized consultations via their mental health in-person and mobile clinic. They also reached over 5,000 youth in their awareness and rural outreach programs. Here’s how your contribution can make a difference: - $500 supports a month of free psychotherapy and logistical assistance for an individual suffering from trauma-related mental health conditions. - $1,000 covers a full day of operations for the Embrace Lifeline, providing life-saving support to individuals in distress. - $6,500 supports a mobile mental health team for a month, delivering crisis intervention and direct specialized mental healthcare to displaced, isolated, and underserved communities.

Learning Domes By LAL : Continous Learning

Learning Domes By LAL : Continous Learning
The ongoing war on Lebanon has displaced over 1.2 million people, including approximately 350.000 children. The future of an entire generation hangs in the balance, with schools closed or repurposed as shelters, leaving countless children without access to education. If we do not act fast, the long-term impact on their education could be devastating. To address this urgent crisis, LAL is launching the "Learning Domes" initiative. This initiative aims to create multiple learning domes in areas hosting large numbers of displaced families and provide children with access to education. These domes are quick and easy to set up and will serve as temporary learning hubs where children can enjoy a safe and stable environment to continue their studies despite the instability surrounding them. Our pedagogical approach is built on an innovative self-directed learning using digital offline content from TABSHOURA ensuring that children can continue learning independently even in areas with no internet access. By employing displaced teachers as facilitators, we will empower both students and educators, giving teachers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to their communities while earning an income. Through the generosity of our partners, 6 domes have been secured and we will repurpose our container in Akkar to serve the same goal. Designed by our innovative collaborators, Design 4 Communities, these Learning Domes are quick and easy to set up, serving as temporary learning hubs where children can enjoy a safe and stable environment to continue their studies despite the instability around them. Each 7x7 meter dome can accommodate up to 40 people and will be equipped with tablets, computers, internet access, a seating area, and an offline access box. By contributing, you support the remaining learning spaces and ensure that thousands of displaced children do not lose their chance at an education. Together, we can provide these children with hope, stability, and the opportunity to continue learning despite immense challenges.
