Hope for Mireille – Support Her Fight Against Cancer
This fundahope page has been set up for our dear friend, Mireille.
Mireille, a beloved mother to Christia and Alexia, an amazing wife to Roy, a loving daughter to Gretta, a supportive sister to Anita, a loyal friend, and an active member of her parish community, is facing the toughest battle of her life.
Known for her kindness, wisdom, infectious smile, and selfless nature, Mireille has always had a positive outlook on life, radiating Love, Faith, and Hope through her daily interactions with others and her never-fading smile.
But now, Mireille is in desperate need of our help.
In November 2022, on the night before Mireille was to defend her doctoral thesis and be presented with her Doctorate in Education, she received life-altering news: news that would stop her from celebrating one of her greatest achievements and contributions to education. Mireille was diagnosed with Primary Mediastinal Large B-cell Non Hodgkin Lymphoma, and she has been bravely fighting this ruthless disease ever since. She has been through four protocols of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and a bone marrow transplant, with an unfortunate aggressive recurrence following each treatment.
However, Mireille’s warrior nature, her zest for life, her determination to grow old with her husband, her need to stand by her daughters as they navigate through life, and the dedication of her medical team have helped her fight each battle fiercely and with Love, Faith, and Hope.
Sadly, the results of her last PET CT scan in August 2024 show Mireille now has Stage IV cancer and her health is rapidly deteriorating.
We, her family and friends, are determined there is Hope for Mireille.
Mireille’s cancer can be fought through a crucial life-saving treatment: CAR-T cell therapy. Because CAR-T cell therapy is not available in Lebanon, Mireille will need to travel the United Arab Emirates or the United States in the next few weeks to start her treatment. The cost of this treatment is 500,000 USD; money that her family does not have access to.
Our Hope for Mireille is being threatened by the financial cost of this treatment.
