The Shouf Dog Shelter: the Home of broken Strays
The Shouf Dog Shelter: the Home of broken Strays
The Shouf Dog Shelter was created in 2016 by Dayana Beainy,A fierce Animal Advocate in Lebanon. Dayana started spontaneously rescuing battered, severely abused, harshly neglected, poisoned, injured dogs, cats and birds until her home fits no more. The threats of the neighbours led her to create a small shelter, which became a sanctuary nearly a decade later. In Dayana's shelter resides the paralysed, the sick, the elderly until they find their special own homes ,No time frames, No eleminations, No Euthanization under any pressure. Every animal is considered at home with their mama since she lives with them at the shelter(in her room live 20 dogs and a blind cat named Chaziyah; one of the victims of the 2024 war on Lebanon, her name means :rocket shrapnel due to her head injury) In Lebanon, Shelters are not supported by the government at all and the public is still struggling with the idea of choosing to save animals rather than people, a sacred mission not everyone could fathom in her society, some turn against her, trying to put her down, while others devalue her mission to hurtful steeping levels, Only few understood the importance of her devotion. The Shouf Dog Shelter is the home of over 200 dogs and cats, It protects, feeds, treats all these broken souls with a huge love but a scarce income. 13 handicaped and paralysed dogs of which 7 started walking & running again defying the negative medical assessment & advice for euthanization! The Shouf Dog Shelter is now struggling for survival! The ongoing geopolitical conflits in the region, the undecided community, and the wave of scammers/ rescuers who are making every day harder than the last .the illigal breeders, the lack of Animal Welfare Laws application, but the worst of all: the brutal war putting the whole country under unbearable financial crisis. The Shouf Dog Shelter is suffering considerably. We need all moral and financial support: Heart & hands for the Animals.

Don't forget displaced people in Lebanon this Eid
Don't forget displaced people in Lebanon this Eid
Lebanon is hurting, and we cannot look away. My name is Sarah, and like many Lebanese people living abroad, I am spending these final nights of Ramadan heart-broken for my people back home. As the rest of the world prepares for the joy of Eid, thousands of families in Lebanon are facing this time away from their homes and their comfort. Many of these families have nowhere to go, currently finding shelter in schools, public spaces, or remaining in crowded vehicles. As we enter the holiest days of the year, the community is coming together to ensure everyone is looked after. We have already shown that we can make a difference. In our last fundraiser, your incredible support allowed us to provide hot meals for more 200 displaced people in Lebanon! We have seen the direct impact of your generosity, but as more families seek safety, the need for support continues to grow. This Eid, let’s ensure no family is left forgotten. Your donations go directly to local, grassroots volunteers on the ground to provide: Eid Meals & Survival: Providing hot food and clean water for those who have nothing for Eid. Essential Supplies: Delivering medicine and hygiene kits to families in temporary shelters. Support for the Displaced: Helping provide basic necessities for those who have lost their homes and are living in makeshift conditions. No amount is too small. In these blessed final days of Ramadan, your Sadaqah is a literal lifeline. What might be the price of a coffee in the UK or in Europe is a hot meal for a person in Lebanon. If you cannot donate, please share this link. Your share could be the reason a family is fed this Eid. Thank you for your compassion. Thank you for standing with Lebanon during these holy days. 🕊️🌙🤍
